Advocate of the Month – November 2022

THE NOVEMBER ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH IS:

DIANA PELHAM!

November is a month in which we focus on being thankful, and we certainly are thankful for our Advocate of the Month, Diana Pelham. Diana has been an advocate for six years and is appointed to her tenth case!

In her current case, she serves one young child. Recently, some unhappy changes have occurred for this little guy, and Diana immediately went to see him at each juncture. In fact, Diana has made five trips and traveled 755 miles in the last forty days to make certain this child saw a familiar face as well as to ensure his safety and well-being. Her advocacy over the last month and a half embodies a mantra that is frequently voiced: A CASA is often the one constant in a child’s foster care journey.

Although the past month in this case has been especially difficult, Diana’s recent court testimony was crucial in helping the judge render a decision that allowed a positive outcome for the child. We are so grateful to have advocates like Diana who care deeply and give of their time to speak in court regarding a child’s best interests.
