Become a Difference Maker

Join Our Team – Share Our Dream!

Here at CASA, there are MANY ways to be part of our mission of providing volunteer advocates to the foster youth of Walker, San Jacinto, & Trinity Counties. Keep reading for information about how to get involved!

Become a CASA

CASA volunteers are everyday, ordinary people – teachers, business people, retirees, stay-at-home moms, and grandparents – who are committed to making an extraordinary difference for children in their community. Because CASAs serve on one case at a time, they truly get to know the child and can give each case the sustained, personal attention it deserves.

Each CASA volunteer must be at least 21 years of age, successfully pass screening requirements, and successfully complete approximately 50 hours of initial training.

The FIRST step to becoming a CASA is attending an “All About Advocacy” information session. In this 1-hour session, we’ll share more about training, advocacy, expectations and more, helping you to make an informed decision about this incredibly valuable volunteer opportunity. For more information about upcoming All About Advocacy sessions or about becoming a CASA, click HERE.

In the past 5 years, our CASA program provided services to 100% of the children in foster care in our area – 417 children total. We celebrated with 132 children as they were safely reunified with their parent(s), trained more than 150 members of local community to serve as CASA advocates, and SO MUCH MORE!

With so many individuals involved in the life of foster children, having a single, stable, positive adult influence throughout the entirety of their case has immeasurable value. This work, however, is only made possibly by the generous members of our community who support us year after year.

Just $25/month can have a huge impact on the lives of the children served. To sign up to be one of our monthly (or annual) donors, visit our “Compassion in Action” giving page HERE.

Volunteer in Other Ways

Often people contact us looking for volunteer opportunities, but don’t feel that CASA Advocacy is the right fit. If you think this is you, we’ve got you covered! Individuals can volunteer with CASA in a number of other ways including serving on the Board, providing meals for volunteer trainings, serving with an outreach or planning committee, or volunteering at various booths, fairs, and events. Whatever your gifting is, we are certain we can find a place for you to serve! Reach out to us with your thoughts and desires and let us help you get plugged in!
