- The first CASA Program was started to be the eyes and ears for the court.
- CASA began serving our area in 2005.
- 50% of CASA’s children are boys, but only 14% of CASA’s advocates are men.
- A new CASA receives 40hours of initial training.
- CASA currently has 73 volunteer advocates.
- 89% of CASA’s children are placed in a home outside of our tri-county area.
- The average age of a child in CASA’s care is 7 ½ .
- 48% of our CASA advocates work full time.
- CASA serves 225 children annually in Walker, San Jacinto, & Trinity Counties.
- 45% of CASA’s children are under the age of 6.
- CASA’s children spend, on average, 15 ½ months in foster care.
- 100% of CASA’s children need and deserve a safe, loving, & permanent home!!
