Listed below are the 12 Facts of CASA shared at this year’s Christmas in July BINGO fundraiser. We hope these facts were educational and that you’ll use them to share about CASA with your friends and family!

  • The first CASA Program was started to be the eyes and ears for the court.
  • CASA began serving our area in 2005.
  • 50% of CASA’s children are boys, but only 14% of CASA’s advocates are men.
  • A new CASA receives 40hours of initial training.
  • CASA currently has 73 volunteer advocates.
  • 89% of CASA’s children are placed in a home outside of our tri-county area.
  • The average age of a child in CASA’s care is 7 ½ .
  • 48% of our CASA advocates work full time.
  • CASA serves 225 children annually in Walker, San Jacinto, & Trinity Counties.
  • 45% of CASA’s children are under the age of 6.
  • CASA’s children spend, on average, 15 ½ months in foster care.
  • 100% of CASA’s children need and deserve a safe, loving, & permanent home!!
