Advocate of the Month – February 2021

THE FEBRUARY ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH IS:

Jason Tucker

This month’s advocate of the month is Jason Tucker who coincidentally is also celebrating his 2-year anniversary with CASA. Jason has been assigned to the same case for the duration of his time as a CASA and has taken great care to ensure that the best interest of his child is continuously met.

This child has been in care for almost 3 years and was initially placed with his younger brother. About a year into the case his brother was adopted, while he remained in the same foster home and his case was transferred to adoptions. Due to the child having special needs and being on the spectrum for autism, Jason made a point to advocate that these transitions happened gradually to help the child with the change.

Jason has been involved in every step towards finding his child a forever home. He was directly involved in picking the potential adoptive family, has been to every visit between the family and his CASA child, he gives wonderful and detailed testimony during hearings, and has spoken up when he felt things needed to slow down for his child.

We are so grateful for Jason’s caring heart and how involved he has been in the life of this sweet child. It has been through his persistence, compassion, and attention to detail that our CASA child is FINALLY scheduled to be adopted summer of 2021. It is because of CASA advocates like Jason, that we can properly serve our families and do right by children who may have not had the easiest start in life.
