New Advocate of the Year – 2020 Nominees

Nominee #4: Patricia (Trish) Wilson

It is hard to believe that this nominee has been with CASA for less than a year! Trish Wilson is a firecracker who has no issue advocating for what’s best for her CASA children!

This past year, Trish was assigned simultaneously to two cases; one with a child placed in Louisiana and the other with placement in Houston. Both cases did not come without complications, but this was no obstacle Trish couldn’t overcome. If anything, the complications only magnified Trish’s natural competitive behavior and fueled her to fight even harder for each of her children. By the end of 2019, she had successfully assisted in finding new placement for her CASA child that was living in Louisiana. She also successfully closed her second case, with the children placed in a happy, stable, and safe environment (quite the first year)!

Beyond her work in advocacy, Trish is also a frequent visitor to the CASA office. She offers to help wherever and however she is needed. She can be counted on to assist with CASA 101’s, hop on to a new committee, and to attend in-services to expand her knowledge.

Trish is a perfect example that you don’t have to be with CASA for an extended period of time to make an impact. Through her hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication she has exceeded our expectations of what we look for in an advocate. CASA feels extremely blessed to have her as part of the team and looks forward to seeing what the future holds for her and her CASA children.
