THE May ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH IS:
Diana Pelham!
(Diana pictured center with fellow advocates at a CASA Lunch)
Since joining CASA in October 2016, Diana has held some pretty high titles: Winner of Advocate of the Month for February 2019 and our most recent Advocate of the Year! She’s also only the 2nd in the program to win Advocate of the Month for a 2nd time. Diana is effective, consistent and determined to advocate for the best interest of the children she has served (Twelve children in eight cases!!!). You never have to wonder if Diana is doing the work. She is ALWAYS, without fail, at family meetings and court hearings, and has her court reports turned in on time.
Over the past year, Diana had at one time, three cases. All of these cases were placed at least an hour away from her. She made all the visits each month with no complaint. Two of these cases were siblings to one another that were placed separately. Diana worked hard to get this sibling group together, and even further to advocate for them to be adopted by this placement. The cases were dismissed just weeks ago – and both children were adopted by this family! Despite how hard she worked on those cases and more, Diana wasted no time to ask for another and is now on a brand-new case ready to go!
Diana is kind, and patient, and is always at ALL our CASA events. From advocate lunches, to trainings, Diana will be there! This past year she has helped us sell Parade of Playhouse tickets, helped with our float in the Christmas Parade, and has assisted with CASA 101’s. She is a very special advocate and we couldn’t be more grateful for her!
