Advocate of the Month – December 2021

THE December ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH IS:

ANgela Moore!

We would like to celebrate Angela Moore this month as our December Advocate of the month! Angela joined our CASA family in 2021 and was immediately assigned a case in July. This case was a rather complicated one since both children were already living in separate homes at the time of removal. She didn’t allow that to slow her down; Despite being new, she immediately got to work contacting CPS, parents, and attorneys to ensure she had a clear picture of how to assist this family.

In this case, there was also a nonoffending father who was requesting to be involved, as he had never been allowed to see his child prior to CPS involvement. Due to no fault of the father, he was having a hard time getting his services started as well as getting visits with his child. Through Angela’s persistence and amazing advocacy skills these issues were finally addressed. Angela even went as far as supervising these visits herself so that her CASA child wouldn’t miss the opportunity to form this relationship with her father. The child is now bonded with her father, looks forward to these visits, and has one more person in her life who loves and cares about her.

Getting information for this case has not always been the easiest, due to all the moving parts as well as other issues that have come up. Angela has been so wonderful about making sure nothing falls through the cracks and is so diligent on following up so that the case continues to move forward.

Through her hard work and dedication, she has exceeded our expectations of what we look for in an advocate. It is an honor to work alongside her and see the blessing she becomes for her CASA children and family. Angela is just another exceptional advocate whose hard work is the backbone of our organization!
